In our latest article from a Guest Contributor, John Sprankel tells the story of his endeavor to create a new National Scenic Trail around the coast of Oahu. Entering the hiking community as mostly an outsider, John’s story is a great example of how persistence and passion can allow anyone to make a difference in their community, help preserve their local public lands, and inspire others and give the opportunity to go outdoors and explore.
